Moroccan

Moroccan (Darija) is the variety of Arabic spoken in the Arabic-speaking areas of Morocco. Arabic is Morocco's only official language, although it is the Moroccan dialect which is spoken by the great majority of the population (around 85% of the total population).

Modern Standard Arabic is used for the official communications of government and other public bodies, while a mixture of French and Moroccan Arabic is used in Business. There is a relatively clear-cut division between Moroccan Arabic and Standard Arabic, and most uneducated Moroccans do not understand Modern Standard Arabic.
