Hausa

Hausa is the Chadic language with the largest number of speakers. It is spoken as a first language by about 24 million people and as a second language by about 15 million more.

Hausa people are located in the West African regions of northern Nigeria and southeastern Niger. There is also significant number of speakers found in regions of Sudan, Cameroon, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire, and Chad and smaller communities scattered throughout West Africa and on the traditional Hajj route across the Sahara Desert and Sahel.
